Jenny Shines From The Heart
Chelsea High School Senior Portrait Photography
There are so many things that I could say about Jenny. She's fun, she's got the most amazing fashion sense, she's super smart, and she is an excellent leader. What stands out above all of this though, is that she is a true friend that takes the time to let people know that they matter.
Jenny's such a caring person. When I spent time with Jenny and her family, I was treated to these amazing cupcakes (where they called black bottom cupcakes, Jenny?) and while we were out at her photo shoot, her mom bought us amazing pastries. Jenny and her mom took me in and made me part of the family because that's just what kind of people they are.
Jenny wanted her session later in the summer (the best timing for summer tans), and we wanted to photograph Jenny before the school year started. She wanted a session that was less traditional, and we thought that downtown Ann Arbor would be the perfect location. We planned our session for the weekend before school started because Chelsea High School did not have a home football game, and Jenny had the weekend off of her Drum Major responsibilities. It turned out that U of M, on the other hand, did have a home game.
It was crazy downtown, but Jenny was relaxed and loved all of the action. There were people walking everywhere, but it didn't phase Jenny in the least. Jenny knows how to be herself even in the middle of a crowded downtown Ann Arbor sidewalk. When I was photographing Jenny in the alley way, the fighter jets flew overhead. Jenny took it all in, and it made her shine even brighter. She smiled and said, "I love Ann Arbor." It takes a special kind of confidence to know who you are even when people on the streets are watching your photo shoot. Jenny rocked it. She was calm, confident and kind to every person that crossed our path.
Jenny, I know you are going to love life as a wolverine. Brightest wished as you head out to U of M this fall. You worked so hard for it, and you completely deserve it. Enjoy each day and may you love your maize and blue adventure. I have loved getting to know you.
