The best part of retreat is the trust walk. You pair up with someone from your family group and go out into the wilderness, one of you blindfolded, trying to find your way around. But we never really care where we go, because it’s about the great conversations you have while you’re walking around. It’s something about losing a sense that increases all the others, and makes for great conversations.
I get really nervous on these walks, so I usually hang on really tight to whoever I’m with, and that always makes us feel closer. But it’s a great experience to trust someone so completely that you let them lead you around blindfolded in an area neither of you know very well. It’s just another thing we do that helps build such a strong family.
