INTRODUCING MY FIRST HAND PAINTED BACKDROP
Over the last two weeks I painted my first canvas backdrop. I already love working with it. It is the canvas that has become the canvas on which I create my art.
I've discovered that there is something raw and beautiful about painting backdrops. It's the chance to dive deep into the core materials that make up portraits. I relate to painting backdrops the way I relate to hiking a mountain trail. It's inspiring, enduring, and it puts me immediately in touch with myself and my highest priorities.
I want the art I create for my clients that resonates and touches something deep inside of them. I want them to recognize parts of themselves that they love, and I want them to see reflections of themselves they have never seen before. Working the canvas, the way one might work the land, created a deeper level of intimacy that I am experiencing with my art. From that deeper connection, I have found a new well of creativity, inspiration, and beauty.
I hope you look forward to seeing many more portraits in the weeks that follow, because I am so excited to create and share with all of you.
I would love to have you follow along on instagram. You can find me @mmbimagery.
