It was almost a year ago that I met with Courtney and James as they began to plan their wedding. I loved the way Courtney bubbled over when she talked about her work, her life, and her relationship with James. I have also always loved the way that James looks at Courtney. It's easy to see that he is in love.
Last fall, I met this couple at Sharon Mills County Park for an engagement session. Much to my delight, they brought their dog Jack. The first thing he did was jump right in the river and then shake off. I remember Courtney's eyes and how huge they were. "I thought he would be better behaved," she explained. I laughed because it seemed to me that jumping in a river is the stuff that makes dog's dreams come true.
Can you image how thrilled I was to discover that Jack, the dog, was going to be a best man in the wedding?
So, this morning, before I head out to Portage to join Courtney and James at the Celery Flats to photograph their wedding, I wanted to share what I am feeling as the sun streams in my window and reflect on the day ahead.
Dear Courtney and James,
May you forever find time to eat ice cream together. May you walk the fields and watch the setting sun light up the evening with its beautiful warm glow.
