Shining Her Light Where It All Began
Chelsea High School, Class of 2014
I loved the morning I spent with Corynne. She wanted her session at her house. She had this really fun idea to head way out on the property to a pine tree grove that her parents planted the year she was born. It would have been a long walk back to the pine trees, but not to worry, we had a ride. Her mom popped us into the family SUV and drove us through the fields and marshes. The trees were now towering overhead and reaching to the sky. They were certainly a reminder of all of the growth that had taken place over the years.
We planned a sunrise session because we wanted catch the sun as it rose behind the pine tree grove. It was worth it to get out there early. The morning light was stunning as it filtered through the trees in the grove. (Plus I think we got started before the mosquitoes got the best of us.)
When had all of the sunrise details planned because we had driven back out to the grove the week before. When we got back to the house, the car was covered with bugs and pollen. There was even a tiny little frog hitching a ride of the windshield. I laughed so hard, I had tears in my eyes.
I loved the way Corynne's image came together to tell her story. Corynne played on her childhood swing and we captured an aspect of who she was as a child. Tall grass had grown up around the swing set and canopy over the slide would no longer keep out rain, but as she sat down on the swing, she smiled the brightest smile while telling me about some of her favorite childhood memories.
We worked hard to include flowers in her session. We were out before most of the day lilies had a chance to open. Finally, we found some flowers up by the house. (I love the gorgeous green dress!) My favorite thing about this set of images is the way we captured the beautiful person that Corynne is today. I think we also caught sight of the woman she will be tomorrow.
We're so proud of you and wish you all of the best, Corynne. May your light continue to shine bright, and may you walk boldly and confidently into the world. I've loved getting to know the real you. You are beautiful.
